Most anglers are flipping or pitching Muskrats around heavy cover. The Muskrat can easily accommodate a screw-in weight with a big 4/0-5/0 hook, unlike a Smallmouth sized bait. The top section and bottom section of the Muskrat have a little additional plastic to make using a bigger hook easier. This bait is also fantastic for smallmouth bass rigged on a jig head. The Muskrat is a killer bait for bedding bass as well. It seems that a big female cannot stand a Muskrat in her spawning bed.
